Mortals?!

This, ladies and gentlemen, is Akira Kiteshi.

There aren’t many artists around today that I can give the honour of liking, nay loving, everything they put out, but Akira Kiteshi is one of them. They are a dying breed.

In reality, AK is one man; Tommy Forrest, an Edinburgh-born DJ (the name is a tad misleading, when you think about it). The fact that all these aural assaults come from just one person make the whole thing even more impressive, and his songs have a low-fi, slightly loose quality about them, which just adds to the charm.

Glitchstep, electro-post-funk, dub, call his music what you want, it doesn’t matter. It’s still awesome.

Sky-oshock

Beautiful, ain’t it?

I’ve never been what people would call a purist of the series. I liked it sure, but I didn’t “concoct elaborate theories about subtle clues and post them on forums” like it. As a result, I’m not meeting Bioshock Infinite with hatred for straying from the beaten path (quite substantially, I might add). Rather, I embrace this shaking-up of a quickly ageing franchise. You can’t stay underwater forever, Jack.

And of course, the trailer obviously isn’t actual gameplay footage, and of course, the graphics aren’t going to be as nice as we see here, but god damn. This game looks stunning, I mean, just watch the trailer. Wow. The only real complaint I had (and this isn’t really a complaint) with the original and it’s sequel, was that everything was just too damn dark. It seems somebody heard my cries, and here we are, 20,000 feet up, with bloom and lighting effects out the arse.

It may well be that Bioshock Infinite is the game that finally makes me go and get my 360 fixed. Only time will tell.

Okay, let’s try this again…

I’ve literally lost count of the number of times I’ve tried to set up a blog as my main site and subsequently forgotten about it, or left it, or whatever, but I promise this time that I’ll make an effort. Promise.

Anyway, welcome to ma site. There’s two main reasons for this thing existing. Firstly, because Facebook statuses and Tweets are either size limited, or too personal, or both, and secondly because I do so damn much on the internet, I need one place to tie it all together. So, along with blog posts about foods/things/people that I like/hate/want to kill with fire, I’ll have links to pretty much everything I’ve made; my music, my videos, my websites, my social networks, pretty much everything.

So yeah, bookmark/subscribe/whatever to this site, cause I’m going to try and do this thing right this time.
